Quick Cribbage is now a Web App

I am pleased to announce that Quick Cribbage for the web is now live. That means you can play on any browser on any device, Windows, Mac, iPad, Tablet, etc. This version has the same look-and-feel of the Windows version and includes many of the point counting and scoring user interface improvements you asked for.

Click the link below to try it out and let me know what you think.

Alas, this means I will not be updating the Windows version from this point on since all improvements will be made to the web version and you can always run it in your browser on a Windows machine.

Transitioning to the Web

You may have noticed a lack of posts lately on this blog. There is a good reason for that. I have been busy converting Quick Cribbage from a native Windows application into a Web application. Sorry Microsoft, it's time to move on.

I have already converted Quick Solitaire so Quick Cribbage is my next challenge.

Over the holidays I worked full-time converting my Pascal version of Cribbage to Dart (HTML/Javascript/css) and I'm happy to say it works; I can now play a complete game of Cribbage in a browser with a few user interface issues to be resolved.

Here is a sneak peek of Quick Cribbage running on an iPad

I truly believe that applications running in a browser on any device are the future of software. Regular users (not geeks) want seamless instant access to their applications and data on any platform or device. My challenge is to deliver that experience.

Oh what fun.

Tabletop Crib Board (3.5.13.1)

Just like the "real thing" the Crib Board should be a prop on the tabletop not a pop-up window. This also plays into my long term plan to move the Quick Cribbage experience to other platforms (like the web). By having the Crib Board integrated into the tabletop it will appear and function similarly on other platforms.

Just released a major update to 3.5 that now incorporates the Crib Board into the tabletop display.

Enjoy.

Improved Card Graphics (3.4.12.1)

Just released version 3.4 that incorporates my improved graphics engine to render card images in almost any size. Now when you re-size the window the card images scale smoothly from the smallest to the largest. This was done to take advantage of newer high-density displays that seem to be the norm in the industry.

Enjoy.

Welcome

I plan to use this blog to report on features and updates for Quick Cribbage and, more importantly, receive feedback from you.

Quick Cribbage is one of my more popular games from the Quick suite and I have been receiving many requests for  improvements. Here I can present new ideas and features I'm working on and you can add your comments and opinions directly to the postings. This keeps you, the user, in the loop and keeps me focused on the features you want most and it's easier and more targeted than email correspondence.

So should be fun.
